Fabulous Feet!

Fabulous Feet!

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should neglect your feet. Lack of humidity not only affects the skin on your face, but skin all over (including on your feet) too. If you want to keep your feet looking their best year-round, you have to take steps to pamper and maintain them. Here are a few ways to keep your feet looking their best whether encased in boots or out on display in sandals.

Scrub Them

When you’re in the shower, be sure to give your tootsies a good scrub to smooth rough or dry areas, especially on the ball and heels. Use either a special foot scrub or even a facial scrub, and bring in a pumice stone to help attack stubborn dry patches and rough cracking. Remember: a pumice stone is more effective when your feet are still damp.

Remove Your Polish

Don’t forget your nails! They can get dry and flaky, too. Plus, over time, nail polish can wear down your nails. Before reapplying a new coat of polish, be sure to remove all of the old layers well. Then, let your toenails go polish-free for few hours and apply cuticle oil not only to your cuticles, but also to the toenails themselves.

Treat With Intense Moisturize

If you want your feet to feel as soft as a baby’s bottom, pick up a good foot cream or use natural oils like almond or coconut oil. Your feet almost always need a thicker cream than the rest of your body, since the skin on your feet is also thicker. Choose a cream with ingredients like Vitamin E and coconut oil to keep feet soft and sexy. Coconut oil foot massage is another simple way to soothe and hydrate tired feet. If you have some seriously dry feet with cracked heels and flaky patches, try an overnight moisturizing treatment by massaging your feet with cocoa butter or oil, then put on a pair of thick cotton socks. The next morning, your feet will feel soft and brand new!
